D1K means “Dog One Thousand”
and Friends of Greyhounds is celebrating our 1000th ADOPTION! We’re holding a BIG party and BBQ at the kennel on October 10th. Everyone is invited. Notice that date? 10/10/10 ? 10 x 10 x 10 = 1,000 That’s gotta be an extra special day! Who was Dog 1,000? We’ll tell you at the party!
We’ll have the collar chains out for sure and our party collars on! We start at 10 and go until at least 3. Bring a dish if you want, we love pot luck! This is a huge milestone for us and we want to celebrate in a BIG way. We’ll have a whole bunch of raffle prizes including a major basket of goodies. You can even buy your tickets ahead of time so you can win without being present. If you are out of the area, we’ll even figure out how to ship that giant basket to you!

u. Tickets are $1 each; or 12 tickets for $10; or 130 tickets for $100; or 275 tickets for $200 (your best buy! - and we need the help!) Your donation will qualify you for other great raffle prizes, too, and help defray our expenses. And - it’s tax deductible. (December is coming - think ahead!) See you at the BBQ!

This sounds like FUN!!!! Here's my take on it: we all love our greys, and we have them because of FOG. So, give back to the homeless ones still there. Bring a gift to the party, and not just chips-n-dip. Bring dog biscuits, towels, rice, medical supplies, and whatever else that is always needed on the list.This can be found on the website here.
